Scholarship Information

There are 2 sets of scholarships available to students through Cougar Club. Please see the sections below for more information.


CSHS Cougar Club Student Scholarships

Requirements

All candidates for any Cougar Club scholarship must:

  • have lettered in a College Station High School varsity sport or be competing for a varsity team as a senior
  • be enrolled at College Station High School
  • be a graduating senior
  • have a parent/guardian listed as a member of CSHS Cougar Club at the time of application
  • submit essay information:
    • Write 200 to 300 words that explain how your involvement with Cougar athletics has impacted your high school experience.
    • Write approximately 100-200 words about yourself.  You may write about your interest, academic success, career plans, any reasons for needing financial assistance to attend college, etc. 

All scholarship monies will be made payable to the applicant’s college or trade school.

The Cougar Pride Scholarship is awarded to student athletes based upon academic qualifications (GPA, class rank, SAT/ACT scores), athletic involvement and leadership, parent Cougar Club membership and volunteer involvement.

The Cougar Heart Scholarship is awarded to student athletes based upon financial need, parent/student athletic involvement & Cougar Club membership and demonstration of the Cougar Way in athletics.

The Cougar Character Scholarship is evaluated primarily on the applicant’s attitude and effort in CSHS athletics. This scholarship shall be awarded not by the Scholarship committee but will be selected by the coaching staff. In the event of a tie, the Athletic Director shall have the deciding vote.

Recipients


Coach Kyle Walsh and Audra Walsh Student Scholarship

An anonymous donor has graciously offered to fund scholarships in the name of Coach Kyle Walsh and his wife, Audra Walsh.  These scholarships will be awarded to two student athletes, one male and one female and both are in the amount of $2,500 each.  This Scholarship will be selected in accordance with the Cougar Club Bylaws and will be awarded at the 2023 CSHS Senior Celebration.  Applications are due APRIL 7th!!

  • In your own words, define resiliency.  
  • How have you demonstrated resilience in your academic, athletic and/or personal life?
  • What have you learned from these obstacles and how do you think they have shaped you into the person you are now?
